Scientists looked through the records of 1,176 patients of the Israeli medical center who were admitted with a positive PCR test, and found information regarding their vitamin levels D3 before infection. Then we compared these data with how severe their disease was COVID-19.

The study showed that among patients who had vitamin levels before infection D3 it was below normal, the severe form of the disease was observed 14 times more often. In addition, mortality in this group of infected patients was 25.6% compared with 2.3% in the group with sufficient vitamin D levels.

Thus, scientists have come to the conclusion that the “solar” vitamin helps the body more effectively resist viral pathogens attacking the respiratory system.
