Néstor Girolami from Córdoba, with Honda Civic, finished in sixth place in the last competition of the weekend in Bathurst, Australia, for a new day of the TCR World Tour motorsport championship (touring cars).
For the eighteenth round of the competition, the 34-year-old driver from Córdoba finished, following 11 laps on the Mount Panorama circuit, at 2s. 785/1000 of the winner, the Frenchman Yann Ehrlacher (Lynk), who used a time of 31m. 59s. 837/1000.
The Isla Verde native had also finished in sixth place in the second race of the weekend (the first on Sunday), but a contact with Ehrlacher and a subsequent surcharge from the stewards relegated him to ninth place.
In the final competition, Ehrlacher won and his runner-up was the Swede Thed Bjork (Lynk), 502 thousandths behind. The British Rob Huff (Audi RS3) completed the podium, arriving at 1s. 300/1000.
Main tournament positions: Huff (Audi RS3) and Ehrlacher (Lynk), 384 points; Norbert Michelisz (Hyundai), 383; Mikel Azcona (Hyundai), 301; Girolami (Honda Civic), 299; Frederick Vervisch (Audi RS3), 295; Bjork (Lynk), 288; James Urrutia (Lynk)
The last two events of the championship will take place next weekend (from Friday the 17th to Sunday the 19th) at the Macau International Circuit.
