Any driver who is currently on the track actually has no chance if the weather actually improves. Brändle and Dowsett, both good time trialists, didn’t even try to set a good time.

Giro time trial: The grand finale in Verona

In the middle of the 17.4-kilometer course in Verona is the last mountain classification of this Giro. But it will hardly decide regarding victory or defeat in the time trial and in the overall standings.
The favorite to win the day is Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin – Fenix), who finished second in the time trial in Budapest. Jai Hindley (Bora – hansgrohe) should hardly be able to take the overall victory away. However, there are still some interesting battles for positions in the top 10.

The course is almost completely identical to the route of the 2019 Giro finals, when Richard Carapaz, wearing the pink jersey, entered the famous Arena in Verona as the overall winner.
Back then, the winner needed 22:08 minutes – so today at 5:11 p.m. we should know what the final classification of this Giro looks like.
