The incident took place on line 503, between Steenokkerzeel and Kampenhout, in Flemish Brabant.
The girl took the bus Tuesday morning, as she does every morning, and as she tried to get into the vehicle, the bus doors closed, trapping one of her legs while she was still outside.
The bus then started again. As the door blocking her leg had not closed properly, the teenager managed to hold on to the inside side of the door.
The bus then drove for approximately four kilometers until it stopped.
The young girl has some bruises. His parents indicated that they would file a complaint.
“We take this very seriously and strongly regret this incident,” responded a spokesperson for De Lijn. “We made contact, via a subcontractor, with the driver concerned. He is a driver with impeccable service and, according to his statement, he stopped immediately when he was warned” .
The subcontractor in charge of school bus will carry out a technical investigation. “The doors are normally equipped with security systems, so we want to understand what happened and why, in order to prevent this from happening again.”
