A seventeen-year-old girl was killed in a stabbing in the Groningen village of Winsum on Wednesday evening. The police have arrested a nineteen-year-old suspect.
The girl was found seriously injured on AS de Blécourtlaan on Wednesday evening. She died on the spot, police said.
During the investigation, the police arrested a nineteen-year-old man from the municipality of Het Hogeland, which also includes Winsum. According to police, the victim and suspect knew each other.
The police are investigating the background to the incident. The suspect is being interrogated regarding his possible involvement in the girl’s death.
