Giorgos Giakoumakis became only the second player in MLS history to score in each of his first five starts and Atlanta United got the last laugh at the Chicago Fire 2-1 on Sunday.
Juan Jose Purata redirected a corner kick on Fire midfielder Maren Haile-Selassie and the ball ended up deep in the net. That net was the difference in the ninth minute of added time in the second half.
Giakoumakis opened the scoring in the 13e minute of play. Taylor Twellman scored a goal in his first six MLS games with the New England Revolution in 2002.
Kacper Przbylko entered the game in the 81e minute and nine minutes later he tied the game.
Clement Diop took over from Quentin Westberg in the second half, the latter having left the game with a knee injury.
