Ginette wants to sing again for her hero

Even if her participation is not yet confirmed (discussions with the family are going well, it is confirmed), the singer Ginette Reno suggests that she will sing at the funeral of Guy Lafleur which will take place on Tuesday, May 3. A way for her to please her accomplice, one last time.

“They don’t want me to talk regarding it…” she said with a smile.

The artist who celebrated his 76th birthday on Thursdaye birthday wishes to sing one last time for the one who considered her his favorite singer.

“When we saw each other, we always had fun together,” said Ginette Reno regarding her recently deceased friend, Guy Lafleur. She explained that she was shaken by the death of the famous hockey player whom she considered a friend.

“Every time I hear that someone dies, like Renée Martel, Michel Louvain and now Guy Lafleur, it comes to get me because I tell myself that it’s as if I was the last, in the gang, who stay,” the singer explained to Journala few hours before being awarded the Legion of Honor of the French Republic.

She herself has been troubled by health problems in recent months. But she assures us that she is better.

“Last year, I was afraid of dying, added the one who has had three hospital stays in recent years. We think regarding death. You don’t sing anymore, it’s over, you don’t walk on the 132 anymore and you don’t bathe anymore… I prefer to believe that there is an absolute and infinite energy that we call God. I hope I will go to heaven. »

A new album in the fall

Far from being enchanted by the fact of aging (“I don’t want to grow old”, launched the jubilee), the singer explains that she finds comfort in the wisdom that comes with age and in the faithfulness of the feelings of the public.

“What makes me most proud is the love of the public, it has never let me down, she confided. I look at my journey, I come from afar. I have never been so in harmony and so balanced. I would like to live old, but I don’t want to depend on anyone. I am quite independent. »

At just 76 years old, Ginette Reno still has a host of projects and dreams to accomplish. Her big comeback on record will be in the fall with a new album that she wishes to baptize Between heaven and earth. Four years following the release ofFor ever, certified platinum album, this new opus will be composed of a spiritual aspect and another more concrete, connected to the earth. The piece titled The voice of men the voice of God is, according to the main interested party, of the order of the great songs. The album will also include two duets, including one with internationally renowned German singer Vladimir Korneev.

“It’s good to sing, it saved my life, added the singer who hopes that her biography project will finally see the light of day soon. Sometimes I want to rock the little girl in me who didn’t believe in her. I am more at peace now and I take care of this little girl who for a long time thought she was worthless. »
