“I’m supposed to say nothing (…) But that would be the least I might do for Guy,” she said with a smirk.

She said she wouldn’t have been able to sing at the Bell Center during her tribute last Sunday.

“It’s very hard for me, it’s disturbing. Each time one of my friends or someone I love dearly leaves, it takes a little while, sometimes up to a month, but I tell myself that maybe soon, we will all be together,” said Ms. Reno.

The great singer continues to recover from her episode of “malignant arrhythmia” in November 2021, but she assures that she is much better.

“I was afraid. I remember the day that I had my greatest weakness. I said to God: “do you really need me on the other side because it seems to me that I still have business to do here”, she explains.

Despite her episode last November, she wants to continue singing.

“I don’t know the word retirement, it’s a word I don’t even want to hear. It’s like with diets, I have a hard time with that, but today I’m at 194 pounds, I was at 306, I’m already better,” she said.

However, she confirms that she must continue to work on her voice to feel free to sing.

She confirms to Pierre Bruneau that she is not like the Blond Demon who was such a natural hockey player, she must continue to work on her voice if she wants to keep her level.

“I’m 76 and I still sing as well as I used to, so I have to practice it, I have to work on my muscle, it’s just a little piece of flesh, but I have to work on it. I have to do vocalizations otherwise I won’t sing anymore,” she explains.

After being named Chevalier des Arts et Lettres and Chevalier du Québec, the great lady of song is now a member of the French Legion of Honor.

A distinction she received with great emotion on her birthday.
