The Korea Tourism Organization will launch a two-month hospitality campaign for Japanese tourists at the same time as the resumption of the Gimpo-Haneda Sky Road on June 29.
The Korea Tourism Organization held a welcome event in the arrival hall on the 1st floor of Gimpo International Airport from 2:40 pm on June 29, delivering a welcome kit to Japanese passengers of Asiana Airlines and Korean Air and presenting a bouquet of flowers. The Korea Tourism Welcome Center (in front of the Arrival Hall on the 1st floor of Gimpo International Airport) will also be operated for Japanese arrivals at Gimpo International Airport until August 28. Korea tourism information booklets are provided, and souvenirs are presented by operating a photo zone and traditional play experience zone.
It also strives to promote exchanges in the travel industry between Korea and Japan. To commemorate the resumption of the Gimpo-Haneda route, which is the fastest route connecting the capitals of the two countries, and to revitalize Korea-Japan tourism exchanges, 12 members of the Japanese travel industry monitoring tour group (7 JTB, 5 HIS) were invited. The monitoring tour group will hold a meeting with the Korean travel industry for 3 days and 2 nights from June 29 to July 1 to discuss cooperation plans to promote mutual tourism exchange in the future. It is also planning to develop new travel products for Korea by visiting popular tourist destinations in Korea.
Lee Tae-young, head of the Japan team at the corporation, said, “I expect that the barriers to exchange between Korea and Japan will be broken down a bit more through the reopening of the Gimpo-Haneda route, which will be held for the first time in two years, so that more Japanese tourists come to Korea than before the corona virus.” “Cooperation with the travel industry and Through exchanges, we will actively support the development of new products using Hallyu contents such as dramas and K-beauty and group visits to Korea.”
