With more than 72% of the votes, Gildo Insfran won his seventh re-election in Formosa and thus he will have his eighth consecutive term. This particularity makes the governor of the Justicialista Party (PJ) is highly questioned and Fernando Carbajal, an opposition candidate, asked that the Supreme Court of Justice intervene in the elections and make it impossible for him to participate.

The Peronist governor stood in his first elections for Formosa in 1995 and won. From that day and for the next four years, he will be the head of the district in an atypical and striking case for politics. In total he won 7 re-elections, with the particularity that the vast majority of them were with more than 70% of the votes of the Formoseños.

With 28 years in command of the province, the opposition considered his application an irregularity but the Justice gave the right to the man from the PJ who, endorsed by the Magna Carta of the province, was able to present himself. He now aspires to reach 32 years at the head of Formosa, in one of the most particular cases due to the enormous stay of the official in power.
