Giedrė Lukšaitė-Mrázková will celebrate her anniversary with a concert at the Palace of Lords Culture

Before the concert, we met the harpsichordist in the art gallery of the Palace Museum. After the rehearsal, G.Lukšaitė-Mrázková got up from her chair, started arranging the notes on the harpsichord and quietly, with the sincerity characteristic of the performer, rejoiced: “It’s nice to be back here, to have the opportunity to play in the Palace of the Lords. The harpsichord was waiting for me. (smiling) I baptized this instrument! I remember the first time – I started trying, and it bloomed… All in all, a great gift. I accept it and at least I hope to give thanks by playing. There will be a lot of good mood, the game – I’m looking forward to it with that kind of attitude.”

October 3 6:00 p.m. the harpsichordist will play the works of Johann Caspar Ferdinand Fischer, Johann Sebastian Bach and Josef Antonín Štěpán. G. Lukšaitė-Mrázková says that this time she chose a special birthday program, as if inviting her to a celebration.

“The comeback is like for my anniversary. It’s true, I don’t feel it. I feel much younger, I just notice that more and more close people are leaving – age. Therefore, this time I am not dedicating the concert to celebrate the anniversary – I want to meet friends and relatives, – says the performer G. Lukšaitė-Mrázková, who has been living in the Czech Republic for many years. – For me, the concert is a communication and a kind of report of what I have learned during my life. I don’t want official speeches, just to be together and thank all my friends and listeners – that’s my goal.”

The professor emeritus of the Academy of Music Arts in Prague claims to notice that the strengthening position of the Palace of Lords as a center of early music is changing Lithuanian music-making traditions. “Suddenly we saw that there are young performers of early music who studied abroad. I see that the House of Lords has become a place where they can realize their creative ideas. It’s like it opened the door to the world of baroque music, I’m very happy about it,” asserts G. Lukšaitė-Mrázková.

The partners of the concert are the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Vilnius and the Society of Lithuania and the Czech Republic.
