THE Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Gianyar Regency, Bali, found 777 people who are potential double voters in the temporary voter list (DPS) determined by the Gianyar KPU. This finding was not only submitted to the Gianyar KPU, but has also been uploaded to the website www.gianyar.bawaslu.go.id.

Member of the Gianyar Regency Bawaslu, Ni Luh Putu Reika Chrisyanti, said that the discovery of the potential duplicate voter data was made after examining the DPS data determined by the Gianyar KPU.

The findings, he said, were found both within one TPS (polling station), between TPS, between villages and between sub-districts.

“So the results of the screening process that we conducted, we found a total of 777 potential double voters consisting of double voters in 1 TPS, double voters between TPS, double voters between villages and double voters between sub-districts,” said Reika.

Responding to the findings of the Gianyar Bawaslu version, the Gianyar KPU stated that in compiling voter data, it still adheres to guidelines that use detailed data elements from both the NIK (population registration number) and the KK (family card) number.

“If there are different data elements, we do not dare to declare that the voters are duplicates, because now we are using the de jure principle (administratively),” said Gianyar KPU Commissioner for the Planning, Data and Information Division, Dewa Ngakan Nyoman Suardita, when confirmed on Thursday (5/9).

He also said that the data submitted by the Gianyar Bawaslu members was still indicative or potentially duplicate, namely that Bawaslu only compared names and addresses and when there were any that were the same, it was said that there was an indication that was not necessarily true.

The Gianyar KPU has previously set the number of voters recorded in the DPS as many as 392,523 voters. (RS/J-3)
