Two of the main figures of the ATP circuit staged a rough crossover this Saturday: Nick Kyrgios and Tsitsipas.
In the third round of Wimbledon Two heavyweights crossed and the controversy was not lacking: Stéfanos Tsitsipas (5th) and Nick Kyrgios (40th) they said everything.
The victory went to the Australian by 6(2)-7, 6-4, 6-3 and 7(9)-6(7). But in the second set, the Greek got angry and launched a straight backhand to one of the stalls that almost ended up hitting a fan. From there came a scandal.
“I want to see all the supervisors!”Kyrgios exclaimed. And he pointed at Damien Dumusois, the chair umpire: “Are you stupid? How can you throw a ball into the stands, hit someone and not get disqualified? Does he have to get hurt to be disqualified?”.

At the end of the match, the No. 5 in the world attacked his rival in the press conference: “In a way, it felt like a circus. He talks too much, he complains too much. We are there to play tennis, not to have conversations. But he constantly bullies his opponents and probably did it at school too. He has a dark side within him.”
And I add: “The Kyrgios thing is bullying. That’s what he does. And I don’t like bullies, people who put other people down. He also has some good character traits. But when his evil side comes out, he can really do a lot of damage and harm to the people around him.”

Despite his defense once morest the Australian, the Greek admitted his mistake: “I’ve never done anything like this and I’ll never do it once more, I don’t know what went through my head. Luckily I didn’t hit anyone. It is my responsibility, of course, but there was also something on his part that triggered this behavior in me.”

The controversial Kyrgios, meanwhile, went straight to seek a sanction once morest the European: “I’m not sure how I intimidated him. He was the one who hit me in the balls. He was the one who hit a spectator. I didn’t do anything disrespectful towards him.”
And he continued: “The circus was all him today. He has some serious problems. I’m good in the locker room, I have a lot of friends, so you know… he doesn’t like it. In fact, I am one of the most loved. He is not loved.”
