Giant came up with a new TRINITY Special. Aerodynamic improvements have already taken on races

Giant’s Trinity Takes Aerodynamic Performance to New Heights

For over fifteen years, Giant’s Trinity has been a benchmark in time trial cycling, revolutionizing teh aerodynamics of these specialized bikes. now, the latest iteration of this legendary machine boasts even more extraordinary features, pushing the boundaries of performance and rider comfort.

A Lighter, More Comfortable Ride

The new Trinity Advanced SL 0 is built upon an even lighter carbon frame and fork, shedding a notable 558 grams compared to previous generations. This weight reduction not only enhances speed but also contributes to a more agile and responsive ride.

Giant has also prioritized rider comfort, redesigning the handlebars and seatpost attachments with a focus on reducing vibrations and strain. This attention to detail ensures a more enjoyable and less fatiguing experiance, particularly on long rides.

Unparalleled Aerodynamic Refinement

Aerodynamics are paramount in time trial and triathlon, and the trinity delivers exceptional performance in this area.giant employed sophisticated real-world Aero tunnel testing and their unique aerosystem Shaping technology to optimize the frame’s tube shapes and junctions. This meticulous design results in a bike that slices through the air with minimal resistance.

Just how much faster?

“Compared to the previous generation, the new Trinity frame saves 5.9 watts,”

Giant asserts, emphasizing the tangible performance gains achieved through these aerodynamic refinements.

Customizable Fit for Every Rider

Achieving the perfect riding position is crucial for both speed and comfort. The Trinity offers an unprecedented range of adjustments, allowing riders to fine-tune their setup to their unique needs. the seat post boasts four offset positions, providing a 51 mm range of adjustment, while the armrests feature a staggering 24x more adjustments than previous models.

These simple-to-use two-screw mechanisms empower riders of all shapes and sizes to achieve a perfectly optimized position, maximizing efficiency and comfort on the road.

Built for Competition and Training

The Advanced SL 0 version of the Trinity is equipped for both competition and training. It comes complete with a SRAM Red drivetrain and exquisite Liv Cadex 4-spoke wheels, showcasing the highest level of component specification.

Giant also offers a separate frame set for those who prefer to customize their build, allowing for a personalized approach to their Trinity experience.

LIV Introduces the avow: Women’s Aerodynamics Optimized

Building on the success of the Trinity, LIV has unveiled the Avow, a women’s-specific time trial bike designed to optimize performance and comfort for female athletes. The Avow’s frame set shares the same impressive weight reduction and aerodynamic advancements as the Trinity, boasting a 433-gram reduction compared to its predecessor.

Like its counterpart, the Avow benefits from the advancements in aerosystem Shaping technology and Aero tunnel testing, resulting in a 10% increase in aerodynamic efficiency. This, coupled with a superior rigidity-to-weight ratio, translates to a faster and more responsive ride.

Empowering Women in Time Trial and Triathlon

LIV’s commitment to women in cycling is evident in the Avow’s meticulous design and attention to detail. The Avow Advanced SL frameset, specifically designed for triathlon, is currently available, with other versions set to launch in June.

Setting New standards in Aerodinamicity

The Trinity and Avow represent a significant leap forward in time trial and triathlon cycling. Their sophisticated design, meticulous engineering, and focus on rider comfort challenge conventional boundaries and set new standards for aerodynamic performance. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or an aspiring enthusiast, these bikes offer the potential to elevate your performance and reach new heights.

What new technologies or design concepts is Giant exploring for future time trial bike advancement?

An Interview with Giant Bicycles’ Lead Engineer,Dr. Alexandra “Alex” Hart about the New Trinity and Avow

alex, thank you for joining us today. Let’s dive right in.The latest Trinity Advanced SL 0 has shed a notable amount of weight. Can you tell us about the materials and engineering processes used too achieve this?

Alex: “thank you. Yes, we’ve managed to drop 558 grams off the frame and fork compared to the previous generation. This was achieved through the use of our advanced-grade carbon fiber composite materials and refined engineering processes. We’ve improved the layup schedule and optimized the tube shapes, all while ensuring stiffness and durability aren’t compromised.”

The weight reduction must have affected the ride quality. How have you addressed comfort?

Alex: “Absolutely. We’ve redesigned the handlebars and seatpost attachments with vibration dampening in mind. We’ve also maintained the same bottom bracket stiffness as before, ensuring pedaling efficiency isn’t affected. The result is a more compliant ride, reducing fatigue especially on long rides.”

Aerodynamics have always been key in time trial bikes. How have you further refined this with the new Trinity and Avow?

Alex: “We’ve invested heavily in real-world aerodynamics, using our Aerosystem Shaping technology and wind tunnel testing. We’ve optimized the frame’s tube shapes and junctions to minimize drag. The new Trinity saves 5.9 watts compared to the previous generation, which is a significant marginal gain in this sport.”

That’s impressive. Now, the Trinity and Avow offer an unprecedented range of adjustments for fit customization. How critically important is this for riders?

Alex: “Achieving the perfect riding position is crucial for both speed and comfort. With the Trinity and Avow, we’re empowering riders to dial in their setup to their unique needs. The four offset positions on the seat post and the increased adjustability on the armrests allow for a vast range of positions, ensuring every rider can maximize their efficiency and comfort.”

LIV’s Avow is making waves as a women’s-specific time trial bike. Why was it critically important to create a separate model?

Alex: “At LIV, we’re committed to supporting women in cycling. Women have unique Anthropometric profiles, so we needed a bike designed specifically for them. The Avow, with its 433-gram weight reduction and 10% increase in aerodynamic efficiency, is our response to that need.”

Lastly, alex, what’s next for Giant and LIV in time trial bike development? Are there any exciting developments on the horizon?

Alex: “We’ll continue to push boundaries, driven by our passion for innovation and our obsession with performance. We’re constantly exploring new materials, new technologies, and new design concepts. Watch this space, as they say!”

Thank you, Alex, for sharing your insights and for continuing to raise the bar in time trial cycling.
