Mourning in the Italian industry. The entrepreneur Gianpietro Benedetti, who as president of the Danieli Group of Buttrio (Udine), a global giant in the design and construction of steel plants and one of the top three European steel producers, has passed away at the age of 81.
Born in 1942, Benedetti, who joined Danieli in the 1960s, went from technical designer to managing director and president of one of the industrial groups with roots in Friuli Venezia Giulia, leader in the design and construction of steel plants, with over 8,600 employees worldwide, of which around 6,000 in the region. Knight of Labor since 2006, two degrees and an honorary MBA diploma, he was also president of Confindustria Udine.
