Giancarlo Stanton Jonathan Loáisiga injured list Yankees

NEW YORK — Slugger Giancarlo Stanton went on the Yankees’ disabled list for the fourth straight season.

Stanton was placed on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday with a strained right calf as the club made a series of roster moves before winning its final game of a series once morest Baltimore. .

“It feels pretty good,” manager Aaron Boone said of Stanton in the followingnoon. “We’re confident that what he said earlier regarding it not going to waste a lot of time.”

New York also placed Nicaraguan reliever Jonathan Loáisiga on the 15-day disabled list retroactively to May 23 with right shoulder inflammation. It’s the latest blow to a decimated bullpen that had shone for much of the season.

“It is something similar to what he suffered last year. It’s probably not that severe. So we just felt like we should take the precaution, be smart and give it a couple of weeks, hoping that’s it,” Boone said. “We think it is something minor. I wish. We will treat it according to the symptoms.”
