In 2020, Ghost of Tsushima everyone agreed. The Sucker Punch studio had succeeded in delivering an action-adventure masterpiece paying homage to Japanese culture. But four years later, a sequel has just been announced for the famous samurai game.
During the State of Play on September 24, 2024, the shock announcement came: Ghost of Tsushima 2 arrives under a new name, Ghost of Yotei. Exit the island of Tsushima, this time, the adventure transports us around the majestic Mount Yōtei, a volcano in Japan located on the island of Hokkaido (in the north), a region rich in history and, obviously, in breathtaking landscapes.
Another major change, the hero of the first part passes the torch to a new protagonist, Atsu. Like Jin Sakai before her, this heroine will have to fight for her freedom in a Japan in full historical turmoil in 1603, at the very beginning of the Edo period – or Tokugawa period.
Little information has been revealed about the exact plot of Ghost of Yotei but the release window is set for 2025, exclusively on PS5. Of course, with the PS5 Pro coming out soon, we can imagine that the game will be optimized for the latter.
