Ghost driver remains in custody after fatal crash in Halle

The accident happened on Friday, February 10 shortly before midnight. After consuming a considerable amount of alcohol and smoking cannabis, NR had entered the Brussels ring, but in the wrong direction. There, he hit head-on with his van a vehicle in which were two French people. The 27-year-old driver of this vehicle died instantly, the 28-year-old passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

NR was also injured in the accident but admitted immediately following the events that he had driven under the influence of alcohol and cannabis. The investigating judge had placed him under arrest warrant for manslaughter, involuntary assault and battery, as well as driving under the influence of alcohol and narcotics.
