President Mohamed Ould Al-Ghazouani broke the fast today, Monday, with soldiers stationed on the country’s eastern border with neighboring Mali.
Official sources confirmed to the news agency that Walad al-Ghazwani arrived in the area this evening, accompanied by a limited number of his aides, where the soldiers shared their Ramadan breakfast.
Ould El-Ghazouani was accompanied by Minister of Defense Hanna Ould Sidi Hanna, who arrived in the region two days ago to prepare the iftar, as well as Minister Secretary-General of the Presidency Moulay Ould Mohamed El-Aghdaf.
During the month of Ramadan, the presidency has been organizing a collective breakfast in the presidential palace, attended by the president, and it usually begins with the guests of the Ramadan revival in the official media, especially scholars and doctors. It also hosted some residents of poverty belts in the capital, Nouakchott.
This is the first time that the president or a senior official has breakfast with the soldiers stationed on the border to secure the country.
