Lovers of the French language, the group “Ô Bec” has been offering text songs since 2017, when the group was created. Built around Didier Dubreuil and Alexandre Griffiths. The group also performs, depending on the show, in 4 or in trio, accompanied by Cyprien Brosset (double bass) and Eric Pelletier (drums – percussion). For the recording of the Nouvelle Scène France Bleu Poitou, it is in the form of a duo that Didier Dubreuil and Alexandre Griffiths came to present their new project to us: the Blue Tree.
It was in 2017 that the group “ô Bec” was born. In the song, Didier Dubreuil accompanied by Alexandre Griffiths offer committed songs, in particular in favor of the environment.
After a first album released in March 2019, and numerous creation residencies, the group now offers “l’arbre bleu”, a show in two versions, one for the general public and one exclusively for children. Through the theme of the tree (the forest, the tree-human link, the vital tree for the planet, etc.), the show invites you to discover trees at the crossroads of the world and of peoples, the reciprocal links that unite them. in their daily life, their environment, their imagination…
The universe alternates songs and spoken texts on music; a folk-rock cocktail of electric and acoustic guitars, percussion sometimes in raw or natural materials.
The title “The Blue Tree” is both a nod to Pierre Alechinsky, painter-poet, and probably represents an imaginary traveling tree in the show…
Even if for the moment, there is not yet a date scheduled for the release of the album of the same name, we can hope to discover this new opus for the spring of 2023. In the meantime, you can always discover the group during these many concerts. All dates can be found on the band’s website.
