Yamaguchi Ube Airport will hold the 28th Yamaguchi Ube Airport “Sky Day” Memorial Festival on Sunday, October 15, 2023. In addition to events and exhibits that you can participate in on the day, there will also be events that require advance registration, including tours and photo sessions of airlines and firefighting helicopters, tours of control towers, and airport firefighting experience.
The three airlines that will be holding aircraft tours and photo sessions are All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan Airlines (JAL), and StarFlyer. In both cases, you can see the aircraft up close, and the ANA and JAL tours and photo sessions will also see off departing aircraft. During the firefighting helicopter tour, the Leonardo AW169 helicopter “Aircraft number: JA35AR” (nickname: Kirara) will appear, and you can see the aircraft.

The airport fire brigade trial experience is aimed at elementary school students. You can experience riding a large chemical fire engine, wearing fireproof clothing, and spraying water. In addition, during the control tower tour, we will hold a tour of the control tower and weather observation room for students ranging from fourth graders to high school students.

Applications for participation will be accepted by return postcard. The application deadline is September 14th (Thursday, postmark valid). If you are applying for multiple events, you will need a postcard for each event. You can apply for up to 1 entry per person per event, and up to 5 people per entry. If the number of applicants exceeds the capacity, a lottery will be held.
In addition, there will be experiential events that you can participate in on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the event, as well as various exhibitions, stamp rallies, raffles, and concerts.
