(Archyde.com) – German Economy Minister Robert Habeck said on Sunday that Germany will enter into so-called climate protection contracts with industrial companies next year to support the transition towards cleaner production and the shift to hydrogen.
“The aim is to efficiently develop a green industry along with value chains that become marketable,” Habeck was quoted by Funke Media Group as saying.
Habeck did not give details of what such agreements would include.
Archyde.com reported on Wednesday that Habeck plans to grant companies operating in energy-intensive industries, including chemicals and steel, arrangements for 15-year subsidies, which he described as climate protection contracts, in exchange for a reduction in their production.
