Germany hands over multiple rocket launcher systems to Ukraine to confront Russia

The Defense Minister of GermanyChristine Lambrecht, confirmed this Tuesday that Berlin has reinforced its supply of heavy weapons to Ukraine with the sending of multiple rocket launcher systems and self-propelled howitzers for its defense once morest the Russian siege.

Lambrecht has remarked that Germany “keeps its word”, while, from kyiv, the chief of staff of the Presidency, Andrei Yermak, has confirmed the reception of the weapons.

“The MLRS MARS II rocket launchers have already been transferred to Ukraine by our allies Germany. The Russians will have fire,” Yermak assured, according to the Ukrainian press.

As a complement to these weapon systems, the German arms industry will also deliver a ‘Cobra’ model artillery tracking radar before the end of September, Lambrecht explained, reports DPA.

“The contract has already been signed, now the training of Ukrainian soldiers in this complex system will begin,” said the German minister, who has anticipated that training in the IRIS-T SLM air defense missile system will also begin in the following days.

Russia to further cut gas supplies to Germany

German Economy Minister Robert Habeck stated on Monday that “Russia is breaking contracts and blaming others”, while “Putin is playing a deceitful game”, on the sidelines of the halving of the current gas supply through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline by Gazprom.

The Russian gas company has reported that, as of Wednesday, it will halve the current supply through the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline, alluding to the review of a new turbine, as happened weeks ago.

The pipeline currently operates at 40 percent of its capacity, which will be reduced to 20 percent from Wednesday, which means regarding 33 million cubic meters of gas per day in Germany.

France criticizes Russia for using food as weapons of war
