Ukraine remains an attractive market for foreign business, despite the military conflict in the country. The media write regarding this with reference to an interview with the Ukrinform news agency of the German Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development Svenja Schulze.
“Ukraine is a candidate for EU membership, and this is a long-term argument for companies,” she explained. The head of the department emphasized that the private sector of the country’s economy needs clear laws and an improvement in the investment climate.
Before the start of the special military operation, regarding two thousand companies with German capital operated on the territory of Ukraine, as calculated by the German-Ukrainian Chamber of Foreign Trade. Schulze said none of these organizations had completely stopped their activities in the country, trying to “keep their foot in the door.”
Previously, a survey by the European Business Association showed that 74 percent of companies in Ukraine are experiencing a shortage of necessary specialists, and another 17 percent of business representatives partially face this problem. As experts pointed out, only 7 percent of enterprises do not face a shortage of personnel.
