Germany attracts mega-factories – Le Temps

On March 22, Tesla opened its first European electric car factory with great fanfare, in Grünheide, south of Berlin, in the presence of Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Elon Musk, the whimsical boss of the American manufacturer, had made the trip to personally deliver his first Y models “made in Germany”. Built in two years, a record time, this gigafactory should employ 12,000 people and produce 500,000 vehicles per year. At the same time, Tesla has launched work for the construction of an electric battery factory on the same site.
