The death of the Colombian actor, Germán Tovar, has taken his television and theater colleagues by surprise. The soap opera “I am Betty, the ugly one” continues to be a success on streaming platforms.
The Colombian Association of Actors (ACA), through an official statement published in Instagramconfirmed the death of the Colombian actor German Tovar at 72 years old. The artist was well known for his lawyer’s role in the telenovela “I am Betty the Ugly one”.
The family of the experienced actor has been receiving messages of encouragement from friends, colleagues and acquaintances. The day of his death it was last friday january 20, as reported by the ACA. Until now, the causes of his death are unknown.

The name of his character in the famous soap opera was Jose Ambrosio Rosalesa lawyer who worked with Dr. Antonio Sánchez.
Throughout his career, Tovar also stood out in several television series, such as “Oki doki”, “Married with children” and “Emergency Room”in addition to his role in the novel created by the late screenwriter Fernando Gaitán.

“Today our dear colleague and friend Germán Tovar Celeíta left, a great companion, member of ACA since its foundation, who gave us his support in the Communications Secretariat with commitment and dedication. Solidarity hug to his wife Lucía and his daughters Camila and Juanita with our deepest regret ”, was the message posted on ACA’s Instagram.
“I am Ugly Betty” featured several memorable scenes, but one of the most memorable was that of Tovar at the famous Ecomoda meeting, where Betty’s story took an important turnsince she decides to stop working with her former boss Armando, following discovering his embezzlement and makeup of financial reports.
