“You are so lost,” judges a Twitter user.
What is meant is the German SPD. The Chancellor’s Party is beating the drum for the new savings ticket on Twitter. For 9 euros, Germans can travel throughout the country for a month in the summer. From Sylt to Freiburg. Condition: The ticket is only valid on regional trains. German regional railways, of course.
And what do the socialists do? You illustrate the poster on the official @spdde account with a red train. party color of course.
It’s just stupid that this train doesn’t even run in Germany. A little picture research reveals: The wagon composition was cut from a picture which a photographer has uploaded to the free image service “Unsplash”. It is inscribed with “Bernina-Express” and shows the Rhaetian Railway, which is currently driving over the pass that connects the Engadin with the Puschlav.
“We hope the message gets across”
Another Twitter user rightly points out to the SPD that the 9-euro ticket is not valid in Switzerland.
Caught, the party writes: “Good eye! It’s a symbolic photo – we hope the message still gets across: With the 9-euro ticket you can go to work nationwide and across Germany for less in the next three months!”
No problem, dear Germans. Swiss trains are not only nicer for the photo – they are also more punctual.
