German Resilience Proves Too Much as Bosnia’s Dramatic Comeback Bid Falls Just Short

German able to achieve a 2-1 win at home Bosnia-Herzegovina. Two Nationalefl goals in this match were scored by Deniz Undav.

Bosnia-Herzegovina vs Germany was presented at the Bilino Polje Stadium on matchday 3 UEFA Nations League A Group 3, Saturday, (12/10/2024). The visiting team appeared to be pressing.

Kleindienst’s team had a chance. However, his header still went up.

Germany was able to break the deadlock in the 30th minute. Robert Andrich’s measured long pass freed Florian Wirtz from the offside trap.

Wirtz with one touch bounced it to Deniz Undav. Undav grabbed it for a goal.

Two minutes later, Kleindienst scored a goal. The goal was later disallowed due to offside.

Germany could actually double their lead in the 36th minute. Undav scored his second goal in this match.

Maximilian Mittelstadt’s pass from the left side was cheated by Undav in front of the goal. Germany leads 2-0. The score lasted until halftime.

After the break, Undav made a hat-trick. But then the goal was disallowed after reviewing VAR for offside.

Germany’s goal was disallowed again due to offside in the 68th minute. This time, Serge Gnabry’s action that shook Bosnia’s net was not counted as a goal.

Two minutes later it was Bosnia who were able to close the gap. Edin Dzeko was not well guarded when he received a corner kick. Alexander Nubel couldn’t stop his header.

Bosnia hunted for an equalizer in the remainder of the match. However, Germany appeared disciplined in maintaining a 2-1 lead until the match was over.

This result brought Germany to the top of Group 3 with seven points from three matches. Nationalelf is two points ahead of the Netherlands in second place.

Meanwhile, Bosnia occupies a caretaker position. They only got one point.
