Dresden – More than 100,000 tractors were on the streets across Germany on Monday, blocking roads and highways. German farmers are protesting once morest the traffic light government’s policies. On Tuesday too, the farmers stood with their agricultural machinery at important road junctions and driveways and on Wednesday there will also be a large rally in Dresden.

The police are therefore warning that “significant traffic disruptions” can be expected in the Saxon state capital on Wednesday. Hundreds of farmers are heading to Dresden with their tractors to take part in the big farmers’ demonstration on Theaterplatz in the morning.

According to the state farmers’ association, the construction is planned from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., the demo begins at 11 a.m. and ends around 3 p.m.

The registrants of the real farmers’ demonstration are the association “Land creates connection between Saxony” and the Saxon state farmers’ association. The Saxon Forest Owners Association is also calling for participation.

Last Monday, right-wing extremists mobilized under the cover of the farmers’ protests in Dresden. State Farmers President Torsten Krawczyk (48) told BILD: “The Free Saxons want to undermine our actions with their subversive fantasies.”

The reason for the farmers’ protests are the traffic light coalition’s austerity plans, which affect the farmers. The traffic light wants to abolish the tax relief for agricultural diesel as well as the tax exemption for agricultural and forestry machinery. The farmers vented their anger with a joint protest on Thursday.
