SECRETARY General (Sekjen) Gerindra and chairman of the MPR RI Ahmad Muzani confirmed that the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) would not place its cadres in the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka cabinet or the Prabowo-Gibran cabinet.
“It is true that the PDI Perjuangan will not put its cadres in the cabinet. “But for PDI Perjuangan that does not mean opposition,” said Muzani, at the DPR/MPR Building, Senayan, Jakarta, Sunday (20/10).
“PDI Perjuangan does not know the opposition but also does not know the coalition. A coalition does not mean having to put ministers in the government. “The opposition does not have to put up, the opposition does not have to take its way with the government,” he added.
Muzani said that PDI does not know the word opposition and does not know the word coalition. So, said Muzani, that is the presidential system.
“If we enter, it doesn’t mean we have to put our cadres in the ministry. “We are the opposition, we don’t always have to take the government’s route,” he said.
Muzani explained that even though PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri was not present at the inauguration ceremony, Mega still ordered the 110 members of the MPR from the PDIP faction to attend and make the inauguration event a success.
“And thank God, PDIP 110 friends were present and we expressed our gratitude because we felt there was warmth, there was extraordinary togetherness in the MPR plenary session which just took place,” he said.
Muzani said that PDIP’s position had been conveyed 2-3 days ago. Even so, Muzani explained that PDIP’s decision would not cause Prabowo’s meeting with Mega after the inauguration to be canceled.
“Yes, that’s still the plan. Ms. Mega will also continue to meet with President Prabowo Subianto. “And when the meeting will be, it will be adjusted to the time and activities of both of them,” he said. (Z-9)
