At the microphone of RTL, this Saturday April 2, Gérard Hernandez confided in the subject of the longevity of his role of Raymond in Scenes of households, a series broadcast on M6 since 2009.

In his show The Unexpected Journal, broadcast on RTL this Saturday, April 2, Ophélie Meunier paid tribute to the 35th anniversary of the M6 television channel. For the occasion, radio and TV host invited Marie Portolano, Stéphane Plaza, Kev Adams, Dominique Chapatte and Gérard Hernandez. The latter is famous for his role of Raymond, which he embodies in the series Scenes of households since 2009. The 89-year-old comedian confided in his preconceived ideas regarding this character, whom he did not expect to interpret for long.

“I did not believe it for a second”, he launched, referring to the longevity of the series on the sixth channel. The one who “did not cast” for this role revealed that we “has come [l]to look for”. On learning that he had been selected for the latter, Gérard Hernandez immediately announced the news to his wife Michelineto whom he is married for nearly seventy years. But first of all, his first impression was not particularly positive. Indeed, the actor then took a look at the Spanish version of the program (the one that served as an adaptation) and at the colleague who played his role. “It was scary, it was scary, it was vulgar… Even I mightn’t measure up,” did he declare.

Already fourteen years of filming

Despite everything, Gérard Hernandez agreed to play in Scenes of households, to protect his home from need. “I said to my wife: ‘Listen, I’m going to accept this, we’ll be warm this winter, it’s going to last two, three months'”, explained the actor, who “played[t] at the theater at the same time”. “It will tire me for two or three months but we’ll be quiet… Well, my little rabbit, fourteen years old”, added Marion Game’s sidekick on screen, who did not expect his role to mark his career considerably. “I have a nose for this stuff”he concluded with humor.
