While Butler doesn’t star in Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters, he has carved a niche for himself in contemporary action cinema. He even put forward his own take on the action masterpiece Heat with the heist thriller Criminal Squad. It is a ruthless ride through the streets of Los Angeles.

In Criminal Squad (originally Den of Thieves), Butler slips into the role of Detective Nick “Big Nick” O’Brien, who doesn’t take the law very seriously. In order to catch criminals, he likes to push the boundaries of legality himself. Already in the first scene he is introduced as an absolutely disgusting, ruthless cop.
