Géraldine Thiry joins the Management Committee of the National Bank of Belgium from 1 September. This trained economist, regent of the BNB since 2021, will head the General Statistics Department and the Resolution Unit, the National Bank announced on Friday.
On the proposal of the Council of Regency, Géraldine Thiry has now been appointed as a member of the National Bank’s Management Committee, for a term of office of six years.
“As Director, she will be in charge of the General Statistics Department, which notably produces all the Bank’s important economic and financial information, conducts surveys (among other things on the confidence of business leaders and consumers) and contributes to the establishment of the country’s annual accounts”, explains the BNB.
