The former Director of SYRIZA PS, Thymios Georgopoulos, responds to reports and “sources that leak and assassinate characters”, as he claims, with a lengthy post on social networks.
In his post, among other things, Mr. Georgopoulos states that “I am however obliged to publicly defend myself and the truth”, stating that “in recent days, sources close to President Stefanos Kasselakis have been leaking to a series of media outlets that I am allegedly responsible for the publications concerning the President’s offshore company, with which he financed Left Media SA so that the party media workers were supposed to be paid and get the Christmas Gift”. “This, they say, is the reason for the sudden decision to dismiss me, after three and a half years of service, from the position of the Party’s financial officer. And indeed without any decision of the PG and KE which had unanimously approved my position. But most importantly without being given the opportunity to deliver, not even to greet my comrades” he adds.

In particular, in his post, Mr. Georgopoulos mentions that “the loan of Stefanos Kasselakis entered the account of Left Media SA on the afternoon of Friday 29/12/2023, while the Christmas gift of the media workers had already been paid on Thursday 21/12 /2023 and the salary of the employees for December on Friday morning 12/29/2023”, to add that “the loan was returned on Thursday 4/1/2024 as soon as we became aware of the details of the account where the return of (unused) bank debt’.

LEAKS NEED “SOURCES”, NEVER NAMED
In recent days, sources close to President Stefanos Kasselakis have been leaking to a series of media that I am allegedly responsible for the publications concerning the President’s offshore company, with which he financed Left Media SA so that party media workers are supposed to be paid and get the Christmas present.
This, they say, is the reason for the sudden decision to oust me, after three and a half years of service, from the position of the Party’s financial officer. And indeed without any decision of the PG and KE which had unanimously approved my position.
But most importantly without being given the opportunity to deliver, not even to greet my companions.
I had decided not to position myself publicly, but only in the party’s organs, in the Central Committee of which I remain a member.
I am however obliged to publicly defend myself and the truth against sources who leak and assassinate characters without at least having the courage to take responsibility.
For the restoration of the truth, therefore, I declare (and I do not leak) under the name Thymios Georgopoulos:
•The loan of Stefanos Kasselakis entered the account of Left Media SA on the afternoon of Friday 29/12/2023, while the Christmas gift of the media workers had already been paid on Thursday 21/12/2023 and the salary of the workers for December on Friday in the morning 29/12/2023.
Who was leaking, then, and who has been insisting for three months that the workers were allegedly paid salaries and gifts from the money of President Stefanos Kasselakis?
