The Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, met today with the first patient who was administered a medicinal cannabis preparation for medical reasons in our country, Mrs. Anna Paga.
“I am really happy because by overcoming myself and my initial reservations from stereotypes of the past, I was able both as Minister of Development at the beginning, but also as Minister of Health afterwards, to reach the current point: Greek patients finally have access into a final medicinal cannabis product. People facing chronic pain, to be able to return to their daily lives with dignity. This gives me joy and I thank Mrs. Paga for coming to see me in person and sharing her joy with me,” said the Minister of Health.
For her part, the patient said: “I am very happy because cannabis gave me my life back and the minister gave me my freedom to live with hope. Thank you very much for all of us, there are many thousands of patients who have been waiting for this moment.”
Chronic pain patients such as rheumatism, multiple sclerosis, and neuropathic pain sufferers now have access to finished medicinal cannabis products produced in our country by the Tikun Olam company and its large production facility in Corinth.
