Georgiadis: By the middle of August, the water coolers at “Elena” will have been replaced 2024-08-12 12:14:39

Specifically, in his post, A. Georgiadis states:

“This morning, following my instructions, the General Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Mr. Vildiridou, visited the “Elena Venizelou” Hospital for an inspection. The facts are as follows:

* Regarding the problem of the Hospital’s drinking water coolers, it was found that pathogenic organisms were present in some of them, as well as a concentration of heavy metals beyond the permitted limit. Following the decision of the Hospital Administration, all coolers were shut down in order to ensure the health of patients, visitors, and nursing staff. Subsequently, the Hospital conducted a market survey and is in the process of replacing all the Hospital’s coolers with new ones, which is expected to be completed within August of this year. Meanwhile, as of today, bottled water is available free of charge to all employees and visitors in Hospital areas who wish it, until the replacement of coolers.

* Regarding the problems identified in a small part of the Hospital in relation to the air conditioning (in twenty-five (25) fun coil units, which were working but with reduced efficiency), by the end of August of this year, twenty-five ( 25) new fun coil units, while another forty (40) pending open tender will be installed within September.

Also, a portable cooling unit was already installed in the reception area of the Hospital, until the final installation of a floor cooling unit (wardrobe type).

– No fainting episode has been described and recorded by the nursing service, except for one related to a history of Hypotension (there are relevant supporting documents from the nursing service)”.
