Georgia vs. Oregon score: Live game updates, college football scores, NCAA top 25 highlights today

ATLANTA — No. 3 Georgia holds a commanding 21-3 lead over No. 11 Oregon on Saturday through the first half of Saturday’s Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. And what a stellar season debut this one has been for the reigning national champions. Senior quarterback Stetson Bennett IV hit Ladd McConkey from 4 yards out with 21 seconds to play to give the Bulldogs the big lead at the break. Bennett is 18-of-21 passing for 254 yards and a touchdown through two quarters.

One of the most impressive players of the game has been Georgia running back Kenny McIntosh, who has 7 yards rushing and one rushing touchdown to go along with 80 receiving yards. The biggest play came on Georgia’s final drive of the half when McIntosh caught a pass and scampered down the left sideline for a 38-yard gain.

Malaki Starks, a star freshman on this vaunted Georgia defense, has made the play of the game so far when he picked off Oregon quarterback Bo Nix on the 8-yard line by high-pointing a deep shot in one-on-one coverage. Nix is 16 of 24 for 142 yards with two interceptions and has tossed several other ill-advised passes that might have been picked off if there were in the vicinity of his receiver.
