The president of MR, Georges-Louis Bouchez, was the guest of Martin Buxant on LN24 this Wednesday morning. After having evoked the drama of Strépy-Bracquegnies, the liberal approached the thorny question of the nuclear power. As a reminder, an agreement was concluded last Friday in Kern, confirming the extension of two reactors, for a period of 10 years.
“Jean-Marc Nollet tries to stir as he can to hide the fact that Ecolo has been talking nonsense for 30 or even 40 years in terms of energy and in particular on nuclear“, hammered Georges-Louis Bouchez. “If for 40 years, you say that nuclear power must be closed, that you repeat it once more a few days ago, and that finally you are obliged in the government, via a green minister, to table a text which will extend nuclear power – and worse, who is going to allow new nuclear power – I can understand that he (Nollet, editor’s note) have a hard time and he tries to shoot at everything“.
For the president of MR, environmentalists are playing a dangerous game with Engie. “The Greens, and the Minister of Energy, are doing everything to complicate and make the extension of nuclear power as difficult as possible. And to continue: “And as such, the greens play into Engie’s game. They make the system so difficult that they allow Engie to put the price they want on their extension”.
“So I call on the Greens to respect Belgium’s interest and to find solutions”, concluded the liberal.
