The creator of the Star Wars universe, George Lucas, had a problem regarding Baby Yoda, aka Grogu, in the series The Mandalorian created by Jon Favreau and broadcast on Disney+. Here is what concerned George Lucas the most.
the lovely Baby Yoda who prefers to be called Grogu quickly became an iconic character from the Star Wars universe. Since his introduction in the Disney+ series The Mandalorian, Grogu has immediately captured the hearts of Star Wars fans.
The little green alien is one of the biggest novelties brought to the universe since the departure of George Lucas. However, his future has not always been so certain. George Lucas himself had a problem with Grogu. Something particularly concerned him while filming The Mandalorian.
George Lucas wanted Grogu to undergo Jedi training
In the book “The Art of Star Wars: The Mandalorian (Season 2)” which is kind of making-of of season 2 of the seriesits creator Jon Favreau remembers the words of George Lucas who had been invited on the film set.
« I had a conversation with George at one point, regarding the Child, and his main concern was that the Child should have a good education “, revealed Jon Favreau. Baby Yoda may be a very cute character, but above all he is a Jedi apprentice who must undergo training appropriate.
George Lucas’ wish for L’Enfant finally came true in The Boba Fett Book, the last episode of which aired on Disney+ last week. In episode 6 of The Book of Boba Fett, Luke Skywalker trains with Grogu. The latter will then join Din Djarin, aka The Mandalorian. Besides, young Luke Skywalker isn’t exactly the same between The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. After his training in episode 6, Baby Yoda made a very important choice in the seventh and final episode.
Finally, we don’t yet know what the future holds for Grogu. It is entirely possible that the Child will continue his training with the Force. It would thus become a Jedi master in The Mandalorian season 3 that might include flashbacks to Mando’s past.
