George Clooney and Brad Pitt break silence on film pay – Life & Style

George Clooney has opened up about his and Wolfs co-star Brad Pitt’s salary for starring in the film.

Academy Award winner George Clooney addressed the press conference of the Venice Film Festival on Sunday. While speaking, the actor talked about “an interesting article” in the New York Times, which claimed that he and Brad Pitt were paid more than $35 million for the film.

“Whatever their source for our compensation was, it’s millions, hundreds of millions of dollars less than the reported figures,” Clooney explained.

“My only point of saying this is, I think if this is the standard of pay for films according to people, then it is bad for our industry,” he added. I think it’s terrible, it would make it impossible to make movies. The WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes last year highlighted the issue of underpaid talent in the industry. This statement of Clooney came after the revelation.

Clooney said in a statement in July last year that ‘a large number of artists and writers have lost their talent and ability to earn a living’.

Clooney also said at the time, “This is a turning point in our industry.” If we want our industry to survive, we have to change it.
