Major change for the children of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The death of the queen Elizabeth II led to a whole series of changes within the British monarchy including a change of surname. Indeed, the children of Kate and William will no longer bear the name “of Cambridge”. They will now bear the name “de Wales”.

Indeed, before the Queen’s death, Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton bore the title of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. But now that Charles has become king, the order of succession has been turned upside down. Prince William is set to become the future king and has officially changed his title. So his children George, Charlotte and Louis now place themselves second, third and fourth in the order of succession. This change therefore explains why the future heirs to the crown had to change their surname.
