Just days before the start of the ICC One Day World Cup, former Australian captain George Bailey has praised the performances of Australian opener David Warner.

Bailey said that Warner is not surprised to progress to the World Cup with these good performances and that the big players will build on their form when they arrive at venues like the World Cup.

“When the World Cup starts, not only in the Australian team, but all the best players in other teams will find their form and get excited,” Bailey told Cricket Australia.

“The team has to be able to not only prove what a great team they are, but also get some exciting wins for the team. So you have to play with passion. Warner is in great form right now. We expect a lot from him,” added Bailey.

This is David Warner’s third and final World Cup. The actor has been playing in great form in recent times. In the India-Australia ODI series held ahead of the World Cup, the star scored half-centuries in three consecutive matches.

The player batted at an average of 53.67 in the series. The player scored 161 runs from three matches. Warner’s batting was at a strike rate of 127.78.

Warner was in good form in the previous tour of South Africa as well. The player scored 206 runs at an average of 41.20 from five matches. Warner batted at 121.18 against the Proteas.

Warner, who debuted for Australia in 2009, has scored 6397 runs from 150 matches. The star has 20 centuries and 50 fifties. This is Warner’s last World Cup, so he wants to win the title and retire from cricket. Fans are hoping that Warner’s batting form will repeat itself in the World Cup.
