Rumors have circulated in recent hours that the acting Director-General of the Ministry of Finance and the Director-General of Real Estate Affairs, George Al-Maarawi, fled outside Lebanon. However, this news is completely untrue, as Al-Maarawi returned to Lebanon after participating in a regional conference in the United Arab Emirates.
Al-Maarawi announced today that the General Directorate of Real Estate Affairs will begin implementing the stamp payment service in the Real Estate Departments Fund in Beirut, starting Monday, September 25th, after it was equipped with stamp marking machines, provided that this service includes the funds of the other departments, respectively, at later times.
Al-Maarawi pointed out that this service will exempt the citizen from the blackmail of obtaining stamps by monopolists and the black market, until the Treasury Directorate completes all of its procedures that it has put on the path of implementation to completely cut off the black market phenomenon.
