This Thursday at the end of the day, while she was shopping in the Extra store on boulevard de Froidmont in Liège, a lady noticed that she no longer had the keys to her vehicle. She looked for them everywhere but nothing, they might not be found.
After noticing that her car was still parked in the store’s parking lot, where she had left it, the customer then returned home, most likely to pick up a duplicate.
But a little later, once back at Extra, a moment of panic: his car had this time disappeared from its location. She had been stolen.
The geolocated car
Fortunately, the lady’s vehicle has a geolocation system. It was thanks to this, once the police were notified, that the car was found a few kilometers away, in Saint-Nicolas, barely an hour following the theft. David, born in 2000, and Alexandre, born in 1979, were on board and were able to be arrested and deprived of their freedom on the spot.
The two accomplices are in confession of the facts. They explain that, indeed, they found the keys to the victim’s vehicle in the Extra store and that they took them with the aim of returning later to take the vehicle, as the Liège prosecutor’s office told us.
The two men were referred this Friday morning to the Liège prosecutor’s office where their fate was to be decided during the day. They are both known to the courts.
