Genneia, a leading company in renewable energy generation in Argentina, agreed with Bayer, the global company specialized in health and nutrition, to supply clean energy for the equivalent of 50% of the demand of its plants located in Pilar, province of Buenos Aires. . In this way, and added to the rest of its supply sources, Bayer will be able to cover 75% of its consumption with energy from renewable sources, it was indicated.
With more than a century of innovation in the country, Bayer’s Health division has its two production plants in Pilar. On the one hand, there is Plant 1, which covers the production of analgesics and hormones, and on the other, Plant 2, which concentrates the manufacturing of the company’s vitamin products.
These operations guarantee the supply of 2.5 billion tablets to 12 destinations in Latin America and Asia, with the highest quality standards, certified by the most prestigious regulatory entities, it was described in a statement.
The new alliance between these companies is carried out through the Renewable Energy Term Market (MATER) system, establishing a green energy provision contract for both plants for a period of 7 years, starting on May 1, 2024.
The renewable energy will be supplied from a pool of Genneia assets, made up of the company’s wind and solar farms.
Bayer highlighted that the Company assumed a firm commitment to reducing its carbon footprint by working with determination to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030, being aligned with the SDGs and the Paris Climate Agreement.

These solutions seek to preserve, restore and effectively manage natural ecosystems to capture and/or avoid CO2 emissions into the environment.
