A resounding affair of security corruption, a pandemic which melted its own funds, tensions with the Council of State or even, very recently, a historic strike which paralyzed traffic for several hours: these last few years have been eventful for Genève Aéroport. Chairman of the board of directors since 2022, Pierre Bernheim will leave his position next year following serving for nearly fifteen years within the governance body. Renovation work, diversification of sources of income or even ecological transition: this aviation enthusiast, himself a professional pilot, talks regarding the challenges that await the airport in the coming years.
Le Temps: You took over as chairman of the board of directors in July 2022, following the dismissal of Corine Moinat by the Council of State. Have relations with the government calmed down since then?
