Geneva: The PS launches Carole-Anne Kast in the race for the Council of State

The socialists preferred the administrative adviser of Onex to the deputy Caroline Marti to accompany the outgoing Thierry Apothéloz, in the elections of 2023.

The general assembly of the Geneva socialist party has made its choice: on Saturday, it bet on Carole-Anne Kast for the election to the Council of State, in the spring of 2023. The latter obtained 166 votes once morest 151 for her direct competitor, MP Caroline Marti. The current administrative adviser of Onex (GE) will accompany on the socialist ticket the outgoing State Councilor Thierry Apothéloz, who is at the head of the Department of Social Cohesion. This received 236 votes.

At the Onesian Administrative Council since 2007, Carole-Anne Kast currently occupies the dicastery of finance, security and social. Former deputy and ex-president of the cantonal PS, she is also vice-president of the Geneva section of Asloca, the association for the defense of tenants.
