Barely two months following the presentation of OpenAI’s Sora, which is not even accessible to the general public, Adobe announced its inclusion in Premiere Pro with other AI specialized in video. It will now be possible to delete or add objects in clips in just a few clicks.
Adobe just announced new generative artificial intelligence features are coming soon to its Premiere Pro video editing software, and it’s as mind-blowing as it is terrifying. In just a few clicks, it will be possible to transform videos, in a way that is almost impossible to detect.
To do this, Adobe integrated its own Firefly AI, as well as OpenAI’s Sora, which made a splash two months ago with entirely AI-generated videos. Premiere Pro will also include Pika and Runway Gen-2. Thanks to these different models, it will be possible to modify scenes as desired to add or replace objects. Select where to insert it in the image, then describe it and that’s it. Likewise, it will be possible to delete objects simply by selecting them. This will make it easy to remove a logo or license plate, change a person’s clothes, etc.

Traceability information to sort out fact from fiction
Premiere Pro will also offer to extend clips. If a recording isn’t long enough, simply use this tool to add a few extra frames and even extend the background noise of the audio. And finally, it will be possible to use AI to generate entire clips and insert them into the timeline.
These features are particularly impressive, and will allow all users to modify the content of any video imperceptibly. A real breakthrough for filmmakers, but a potential danger for society if it is no longer possible to distinguish truth from fiction. Aware of the problem, Adobe indicates that videos produced with the software will include content traceability information, which will allow you to know if generative AI was used in a video. However, it is only a matter of time before other software offers similar functionality, without this security.
