Generative AI, the future engine of growth for the French economy? This is what the report of the interministerial committee on generative artificial intelligence, which will be officially presented to President Emmanuel Macron, this Wednesday at the Élysée, would conclude. His missions ? Issue recommendations on French strategy, take stock of current capabilities, or even pproduce figures on the economic impact of generative AI. It presents operational, realistic, ambitious and viable positions in the long term. »

The impact of artificial intelligence leans towards the positive

Co-director of the committee with researcher Anne Bouverot, economist Philippe Aghion will present in the report “ unprecedented figures on the value creation potential of AI », Says the Elysée. The findings would be clear: the positive effects of generative AI on employment should far exceed the negative effects. An entire chapter is also dedicated to the theme “AI that creates or destroys jobs”. “ The report mentions a potential increase in GDP of 250 to 400 billion euros thanks to AI by 2030 », figures the presidency. As a reminder, GDP stood at 2,640 billion euros in 2022.
