General Dmytro Marchenko Resigns: A Brave New Chapter

By Your Favorite Humorists: A Medley of Wit and Wisdom

Well, well, well! If it isn’t the gallant General Dmytro Marchenko bidding adieu to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Resignation might sound like a coward’s retreat, but hold on to your hats, folks! This isn’t just a ‘see ya later’ moment; it’s returning to civilian life after a categorical epic of aerial reconnaissance, dramatic retreats, and full-on battlefield heroics. I mean, if we had a medal for imagination, the general would win ‘Gold’! But alas, it seems even a hero needs a break, or at least a healthy dose of spa treatment. Because let’s be honest, even warriors need to kick back and let the cobwebs of service fly away like poorly thrown grenades!

In a candid post on Facebook (where drama unfolds faster than on reality TV), Marchenko labeled his departure as the hardest decision he’s had to make in a life filled with, let’s say, slightly tougher choices than picking a Netflix series. He recounted his time staking claims in occupied Crimea, rescuing his comrades from encirclement like he was auditioning for a Hollywood action flick, and driving reform in the military’s food supply. Suddenly, my rejection letter from drama school seems much less significant.

He articulated this sequence of trials, tribulations—bless his soul—and triumphs like a heartwarming war story…except for the part where you realize it is a war story. The man has been through the ringer, and he’s still standing. This isn’t just inflation; it’s the price of bravery, folks!

But wait! As the general becomes a civilian, he’s not just going into witness protection—no, no! He’s launching the Dmytro Marchenko Charitable Fund, inviting everyone to join his quest for making the Ukrainian army stronger. It’s like one of those ambitious crowdfunding campaigns, only instead of a hipster coffee shop, you’re backing the army! Who needs a latte when you can support the fighting spirit of the nation?

Thanking various heroes, from doctors to restaurateurs, Marchenko clearly embraces the mantra that it takes a village…or a city…or perhaps an entire country to fend off invaders. And yes, my friends, that’s precisely the spirit and camaraderie those Ukrainian soldiers demonstrated during those terrifying days of February-March 2022.

Now, let’s address the shimmering jewel of this article: the general’s nickname – “Marcello.” If that doesn’t scream ‘charismatic heart-throb’ or a suave character from a romance novel, I don’t know what does! It’s like if James Bond suddenly took a detour to become a military tactician! Marcello successfully defended Mykolaiv under circumstances more precarious than your average first date. You can practically hear the “Eye of the Tiger” playing as we recount these heroic feats!

In a world where the odds seemed steep and the enemy’s numbers unyielding, this general fortified a city, knitting a tapestry of resistance and confidence that shall endure well beyond the drone of artillery. He didn’t just defend a place; he inspired a movement.

As we bid farewell to General Marchenko’s active duty, we tip our hats and salute his bravery. But don’t worry; we’ll be following his next venture like hawks because his sense of humour could rival any stand-up comic. May the force be with him as he recuperates and readies for the next chapter—who knows, it could be the next great military memoir or a romantic comedy inspired by a tough general’s transition to civilian celebrity! And let’s face it, if you ever need a touch of inspiration, just remember the indomitable spirit of General “Marcello” Marchenko—the hero we didn’t know we needed!

General Dmytro Marchenko announced that he has decided to resign from the Armed Forces of Ukraine and is currently undergoing treatment.

As reported by Ukrinform, Marchenko wrote about this in Facebook.

“Reconnaissance in the occupied Crimea, the withdrawal of 75 comrades from the encirclement in the Izvarinsky cauldron, the Donetsk airport, tens of thousands of kilometers along the endless steppes of Donbas, in times when few understood where their own were and where the enemy was. Hard work on the reform of material support and the introduction of a new food system , development and struggle for new rations in the Ministry of Defense. Fabricated criminal cases and the Kherson region… a long, difficult path that transformed me at every stage and made me who I am. No tests from the enemy, no pressure didn’t force me to stop fighting for Ukraine. That’s why leaving the service was the hardest decision I made in my life,” Marchenko said.

As the general informed, he is undergoing the necessary treatment.

“After all, even the indomitable sometimes need to be patched up a little to keep them afloat. After all, service in the army always requires sacrificing health. And without timely recovery, everything can become useless,” Marchenko noted.

He thanked all his brothers, friends and sisters whom he met on his way.

“Thank you to all the people of Mykolaiv and Kherson, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, security forces, police and emergency services, doctors and restaurateurs, businessmen, local and regional self-government bodies, ordinary people who stood shoulder to shoulder together and repelled the enemy – for incredible heroism in those terrifying days of February-March 2022 Thank you to every Ukrainian soldier and officer for the fact that together we beat the enemy, not paying attention to any fatigue and any forecasts and “analytics”, Marchenko emphasized.

According to the general, there is still a long way to fight for Ukraine. That is why he is launching the Dmytro Marchenko Charitable Fund and calls to join his projects in order to make the Ukrainian army stronger together.

As reported by Ukrinform, Dmytro Marchenko, nicknamed “Marcello”, is a combat general, a cyborg, a person who enjoys respect among the residents of Mykolaiv. They owe it to him that the city was able to defend itself when the Russian invasion tried to surround and capture it in March 2022. The general competently organized the defense of the city, which the enemy was never able to overcome, although he had significant advantages in manpower and equipment.
